And there is something you can do about it. It takes 2 minutes to write a note to Woolworths telling them that you won’t be buying pork from them until you are satisfied that the pigs have a decent quality of life.

It makes you wonder what the conditions are like in other countries around the world. My daughter tells me to avoid eggs which come from battery hens which I have been doing.
It is stunning to see that we are abusing animals for our betterment: pregnant mares that are kept in order to harvest premarin, fatted geese to provide pate de fois gras, and the list goes on and on.
On the whole we currently aren’t big meat eaters but thanks for the eye opener about pork.
