Apologies if this was your idea…
…but this is an abomination.
Anyone got a vegetarian slow cooker recipe that I could actually eat without blowing an artery?
Kris – I’d love your baked bean recipe!

Oh god, that does not look good. Do you think anyone has actually ever eaten that? It would look like vomit.

LOL! I once bought a Slow Cooker recipe book which was filled with recipes like that one. Revolting.\n\nIve downloaded an iPhone app called Slow Cooker and it seems to have some pretty good veg recipes. Theres a great Curried Lentil Soup, Autumn Barley Stew and many more.\n\nWell worth getting.\n\nxoxox

I’ll dig it out for you. It probably contains bacon, but I think you could leave that out fairly easily…

Lord love a duck. That’s the kind of argument I hear against vegetarian eating.

Thanks Kris. Your version without bacon was superb – though I imagine the bacon would be sensational too!

Found it! The Halloween ones, right? It was based on this recipe: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Hot-and-Smoky-Baked-Beans-101852\n\nOf course, I didnt have half the required ingredients so made a lot of substitutions: I left out the bacon, used treacle for the molasses, subbed in some ketchup and vinegar for the Worcestershire sauce, and used chipotle powder instead of canned chilies. I also used three different types of canned beans.
