I've thought about what it must be like for small children to have medical procedures -- seeing my kids go through vaccinations was hard enough -- and I just can't imagine. It must be so hard watching your child go through that stuff. I thank the deity regularly that I've been spared that so far. And good on your for persisting with your calls to the hospital. That's what mothering is about, isn't it? Being ferocious and tenacious, and soothing and reliable by turns. Man, what a gig.
